Tom Jacoby
CEO, AVAD
Tom Jacoby has 30 years of operating, consulting and M&A experience in the consumer electronics, human capital management and clean energy industries. Currently, Tom serves as the CEO of AVAD, LLC, a leading distributor of high end audio and video equipment. Tom is also Chairman of Innovation Fuels Inc; a venture backed BioDiesel company based in New York. As part of his work in the Clean Tech field, Tom is a founding Director of the California Clean Energy Fund and serves on its investment committee. Additionally, he serves on the investment committee of the California Clean Energy Angel Fund; the first angel stage capital fund formed to focus on the Clean Energy markets. As a private equity investment and business strategy consultant, Tom has developed high level strategies for Arthur Andersen, Ripplewood Holdings, New Energy Capital and Distributed Energy Systems Corp. Tom was the principle architect of a successful private equity lead integration strategy in the consumer loudspeaker market and ultimately served as Corporate Development Officer and Vice Chairman of Klipsch Group, Inc., where he was responsible for business development, acquisitions, and strategic planning. Tom remains a Director at Klipsch Group Inc. Previously; Tom was CEO and President of the Harman Consumer Group, a publicly held, Global 1,000 consumer electronics company. Tom has been a principle in more than 25 transactions and has led or participated in raising more than $200M in institutional capital. Tom is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University.
